Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Float/Med Surg/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele - Experience, comfort, and proficiency with drips, including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltizem, and digoxin - Must be able to read EKG/ECG confidently, including rhythm strips and dysrhythmia reads License: - Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale certificate (nice to have) Must-Have: - De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) (preferred, can be obtained during onboarding) - 1st time traveler accepted with at least 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Description: Nurse will float across various units based on staffing needs. Primary care will be in Med Surg, responding to assistance needs based on census and staffing. Candidates are required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed. Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding. Experience in telemetry duties and responsibilities is required. Comfort in managing both stable and unstable patients effectively is essential. Nurses are expected to demonstrate strong communication and clinical skills. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care is essential. Documentation experience with electronic medical record systems is required.
